In 2019, SMS received recognition as a Research Center by Andhra University, further solidifying its reputation as a hub for academic and industry research. The Center for Management Research (CMR) focuses on creating cutting-edge research in the field of management, contributing significantly to the academic community.
- Research Faculty: Three faculty members are eligible to guide Ph.D scholars, with four scholars currently pursuing their PhD under their guidance.

- Publications: SMS faculty members have published extensively in Scopus-indexed, Google Scholar, national, and international journals, and have authored numerous books and book chapters.
The admission for Ph.D. course is through APRCET conducted by Govt of Andhra Pradesh.
